Site Carpenter – NSW and WA Projects

Spyder Motors Pty Ltd is recruiting a skilled Carpenter for full-time project work across NSW and WA.

Employment: Full-time
Salary Package: A$90,000–A$98,000 per year, plus superannuation
Project Locations: Various sites across NSW and WA
Work Arrangement: Site-based and in person

The position covers practical carpentry work on residential, commercial and public-space developments. The Carpenter will be responsible for completing structural and finishing work accurately, safely and in accordance with drawings, specifications and construction schedules.

Your Day-to-Day Work

• Set out carpentry work using plans, measurements and site specifications
• Measure, mark, cut, shape and join timber and other construction materials
• Build and erect wall frames, floor systems and other structural frameworks
• Fit doors, windows, stairs, cladding, flooring, cabinetry and prefabricated components
• Repair, replace and maintain damaged timber structures and fixtures
• Check completed work for correct levels, dimensions, alignment and finish
• Determine material quantities and advise supervisors of supply requirements
• Coordinate your work with supervisors, contractors and other trades on site
• Address construction issues without compromising safety, quality or project schedules
• Support and guide junior carpenters and site workers when required
• Clean and maintain tools, equipment and work areas

Required Background

To be considered, applicants should have:

• Certificate III in Carpentry or an equivalent relevant qualification
• A minimum of three years of practical carpentry experience
• Proven ability to work from blueprints, engineering drawings and construction specifications
• Experience with both structural and finishing carpentry
• Sound knowledge of construction materials, installation methods and building practices
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and carpentry machinery safely
• Accurate measuring, cutting, assembly and installation skills
• Good physical fitness and the capacity to perform manual site work
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with limited supervision
• Professional communication and the ability to coordinate with other trades
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport preferred
• Availability to work at project locations across NSW and WA when required
