Carpenter – FIFO Mining

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our team, undertaking construction, refurbishment, maintenance and decommissioning works across mining camp buildings and site infrastructure.

This hands-on role will involve working on a range of site facilities, including workshops, sheds, crib rooms and ablution blocks. The successful candidate will have strong carpentry skills, a commitment to quality workmanship and a proactive approach to workplace health and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Construct, install, refurbish, repair and decommission mining camp buildings and site infrastructure.
• Carry out carpentry works across workshops, shed structures, crib rooms, ablution blocks and other site facilities.
• Interpret and work from plans, drawings and specifications to complete tasks accurately.
• Safely operate carpentry tools, machinery and equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to site buildings and structures.
• Work collaboratively with site supervisors, tradespeople and labourers to complete projects efficiently and within required timeframes.
• Assist with loading, unloading and transporting materials and equipment as required.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment.
• Participate in pre-starts, toolbox talks and other safety-related meetings.
• Identify and report hazards, incidents and near misses promptly.
• Follow site HSE policies, procedures, SWMS and JSA requirements.
• Promote a strong safety culture and comply with environmental requirements, including responsible material and waste management.

Skills and Experience

• Relevant carpentry trade qualification.
• Demonstrated experience in carpentry, construction and maintenance works.
• Experience working on mining sites, remote projects or camp infrastructure is highly regarded.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications.
• Competent in the safe use of carpentry tools, equipment and machinery.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
