Experienced Carpenter / Multi-Trader

We are looking for a highly competent, experienced Carpenter / Multi-Trader to join our growing team.

We are looking for someone who can arrive on site, assess the job, work out the best approach, and complete work to a high standard with minimal supervision.

Our projects include extensions, loft conversions, structural alterations, repairs and refurbishments across domestic and commercial properties in the Folkestone & Hythe area.

We are looking for a skilled, reliable tradesman who takes pride in producing quality work, has good attention to detail and is confident working independently in customers' homes.

The Role:

1st Fix Carpentry

• Stud walls and partitions
• Floor joists and structural timber work
• Roof construction and alterations
• Structural alterations and associated carpentry
• Setting out and working from drawings/specifications where required

2nd Fix Carpentry

• Hanging doors and fitting door linings
• Skirting boards and architraves
• Kitchens and built-in units
• Trims, finishing work and general carpentry
• Achieving a high-quality finish without excessive supervision

Multi-Trade / General Building

• Basic plumbing
• Tiling
• Painting and decorating
• Kitchen and bathroom fitting
• General repair and refurbishment works
• Making good and finishing associated works

What We're Looking For

We are specifically seeking a highly competent, experienced tradesman who can carry out the following works independently and to a high standard, with minimal supervision:

• Demonstrate proven experience in carpentry and multi-trade building work
• Work confidently and independently without needing constant instruction
• Read plans, understand dimensions and set out work accurately
• Identify problems and find practical solutions
• Complete jobs to a professional, customer-ready standard
• Work efficiently and manage your own time
• Understand the importance of quality, preparation and attention to detail
• Work safely and maintain a clean, organised site
• Communicate professionally with customers and the team
• Take responsibility for the quality of your own work

You should be confident undertaking a job from start to finish within your area of expertise.

Essential Requirements

• Several years' proven experience as a carpenter / multi-trader
• Strong practical carpentry skills across both 1st and 2nd fix
• Good knowledge of general building and refurbishment work
• Full UK driving licence
• Own reliable transport
• Own professional tools suitable for the work
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, punctual and presentable
• Good communication and customer service skills
• High standards of workmanship

The Ideal Candidate

We're particularly interested in applicants who have experience working on extensions, loft conversions, renovations and high-quality domestic refurbishment projects.
