About the role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join the maintenance and operations team at Vista Marina Hotel in Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Zambales. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the physical infrastructure of our hotel facilities. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing wooden structures and fixtures throughout the hotel, ensuring that our property remains in excellent condition and meets the highest standards of quality and safety. Your craftsmanship will directly contribute to creating a welcoming and well-maintained environment for our guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Construct, install, and repair wooden structures, furniture, and fixtures throughout the hotel premises, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities
• Perform maintenance and repairs on existing wooden elements, doors, windows, cabinets, and built-in features
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate completion of projects
• Measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials according to project requirements using hand and power tools
• Fabricate and install custom cabinets, shelving units, and other bespoke wooden items as needed for hotel operations and guest experiences
• Collaborate with other maintenance staff, hotel management, and contractors to complete renovation and refurbishment projects
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations and best practices
• Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards and project specifications
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on wooden structures and fixtures to prevent deterioration and extend their lifespan

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Carpenter or in a similar carpentry role, preferably within the hospitality industry or hotel maintenance sector
• Strong proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications accurately
• Solid understanding of various wood types, materials, and finishing techniques
• Knowledge of construction safety standards, building codes, and health and safety regulations
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality craftsmanship
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physical ability to perform manual work, including lifting heavy materials and working at heights when necessary
• Relevant carpentry qualifications, certifications, or formal training in woodworking or carpentry
• Flexibility to work varied shifts and respond to maintenance emergencies as required
