Job Summary

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Carpet / Rug Designer with 2–5 years of professional experience, preferably in the carpet, rug, textile, or home furnishing manufacturing industry.

The ideal candidate should have strong proficiency in relevant design software and the ability to develop innovative designs, production-ready artwork, carpet layouts, colourways, and technical design files. The candidate will work closely with the Design, Merchandising, Sampling, and Production teams to translate buyer requirements and design concepts into commercially viable designs suitable for manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop creative and commercially appealing carpet and rug designs in line with buyer requirements and market trends.
• Create digital artwork, motifs, patterns, borders, layouts, and colour combinations using relevant design software.
• Prepare multiple colourways and design variations for new collections and existing designs.
• Convert hand sketches, reference images, and design concepts into accurate digital artwork.
• Prepare production-ready design files, ensuring accuracy in dimensions, patterns, repeats, and colour specifications.
• Modify and refine designs based on buyer feedback, sampling requirements, and internal approvals.
• Coordinate with the Design, Merchandising, Sampling, and Production teams to ensure design feasibility and timely execution.
• Develop designs suitable for different carpet manufacturing techniques, including hand-tufted, hand-knotted, and other construction methods, as applicable.
• Maintain an organised digital library of designs, artwork, colourways, and approved production files.
• Ensure that designs meet quality standards, technical specifications, and buyer expectations.
• Research emerging trends in carpet, rug, textile, and home furnishing design to support the development of new collections.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Proficiency in relevant design software such as CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, or other industry-standard design applications.
• Strong understanding of design composition, patterns, motifs, colour combinations, and visual balance.
• Ability to interpret buyer briefs, reference images, and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of carpet and rug design development and preparation of production-ready artwork.
• Understanding of design adaptation, colourway development, and design-to-production workflows.
• Strong creative ability, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related discipline is preferred.
• 2–5 years of relevant professional experience in design development.
• Prior experience in the carpet or rug manufacturing industry will be highly preferred.
• Experience in textile design, home furnishings, floor coverings, or related product categories will also be considered.
• Familiarity with carpet manufacturing techniques, yarn colours, textures, pile construction, and production requirements will be an added advantage.
• A portfolio showcasing previous carpet, rug, textile, or related design work is preferred.

Work Location

Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. The candidate will be required to work from the company's manufacturing facility in Mirzapur and coordinate regularly with the Design, Merchandising, Sampling, and Production teams.

Compensation

Salary will be commensurate with the candidate's experience, technical skills, creativity, and suitability for the role.
