Cashier

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cashier to join the team at MERCEDES MEDICAL INC. in Pasig City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in our healthcare operations by managing financial transactions and ensuring accurate record-keeping for our patients and clients. This position is crucial to our administrative operations and directly impacts the patient experience and financial integrity of our organization.

Key responsibilities

• Process patient payments accurately and cash handling procedures
• Issue receipts and invoices to patients and insurance providers
• Reconcile cash drawers at the end of each shift and prepare daily financial reports
• Answer patient enquiries regarding billing, payment plans, and insurance coverage
• Maintain accurate records of all transactions in the healthcare management system
• Assist with directing patients to appropriate departments
• Ensure compliance with healthcare financial regulations and data protection standards
• Monitor and report discrepancies in accounts and resolve billing issues promptly
• Provide exceptional customer service whilst maintaining confidentiality of patient information

What we're looking for

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification; additional certifications in healthcare administration or accounting are advantageous

• Proven experience as a cashier, preferably in a healthcare, medical, or hospital setting

• Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in handling financial transactions

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with patients, medical staff, and insurance representatives

• Ability to handle confidential patient information with discretion and maintain privacy compliance

• Knowledge of medical billing terminology and insurance processes is preferred

• Reliability, integrity, and a professional demeanour

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant computer applications
