Duties

• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges swiftly.
• Greet customers warmly, answer questions about products, and assist with product demos when needed.
• Manage cash handling responsibilities with precision, including counting cash, giving correct change, and balancing registers at shift end.
• Upsell relevant products and promotions to enhance the customer’s shopping experience and increase store sales.
• Maintain organized merchandising displays, stock shelves, and ensure the checkout area is clean and inviting.
• Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when taking orders or answering inquiries over the phone.
• Support inventory management by stocking items, conducting regular stock checks, and assisting with merchandising strategies.
• Engage in bilingual communication to serve a diverse customer base effectively.

Experience

• Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required; we value enthusiasm and a willingness to learn!
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math skills are essential for accurate transactions.
• Supervising experience or leadership roles are a plus, demonstrating your ability to guide team members or assist in training new staff.
• Strong communication skills are vital for providing excellent customer service and collaborating with team members.
• Experience in product demos, upselling techniques, and merchandising will help you excel in this role.
