Duties

• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions, including cash, credit/debit cards, and mobile payments
• Handle cash register operations with precision, including cash drawer handling and balancing registers at shift end
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product locations or inquiries
• Conduct product demos when needed to educate customers about features and benefits of merchandise
• Upsell complementary products or services to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining a friendly approach
• Stock shelves and organize merchandise to ensure a clean, attractive store environment that encourages sales
• Maintain phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone inquiries or follow-up calls
• Support merchandising efforts by arranging displays and ensuring product knowledge is up-to-date for effective selling
• Assist in inventory management through stocking, inventory counts, and reporting discrepancies

Experience

• Prior experience in retail sales or cashier roles is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is valued
• Demonstrated proficiency with POS systems and cash register operations
• Bilingual skills are a plus to effectively serve diverse customer bases
• Experience with grocery store operations or retail math enhances your ability to handle transactions confidently
• Supervising experience in retail environments is advantageous for leadership opportunities
• Strong communication skills and phone etiquette are essential for engaging with customers professionally
• Familiarity with retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and upselling strategies will set you apart
