Cashier

Job Summary

The Cashier is responsible for accurately receiving and processing payments from patients/customers, issuing receipts, maintaining proper records of all transactions, and ensuring that all cash and payment activities are properly accounted for.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive cash, POS, bank transfer, and other approved payments from patients/customers.
• Accurately process and record all daily transactions.
• Issue receipts for every payment received.
• Verify payment amounts and ensure correct change is given where applicable.
• Maintain accurate records of cash, POS, transfers, and other payment methods.
• Reconcile cash and payment records at the end of each shift/day.
• Prepare and submit daily cash reports to the Accountant/Finance Manager.
• Ensure that all payments are properly documented and accounted for.
• Handle patient/customer payment enquiries professionally.
• Report any discrepancies, shortages, overpayments, or suspicious transactions immediately.
• Keep cash and payment-related documents secure.
• Follow all company/hospital financial policies and procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial and patient information.
• Work closely with the accounts, reception, nursing, and other relevant departments.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• Minimum of an OND/HND/Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Previous cashier, receptionist, accounts, or customer service experience is an advantage.
• Good numerical and basic accounting skills.
• Ability to operate POS terminals and other payment systems.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and basic computer operations.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and customer-service skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple transactions efficiently.

Performance Expectations

The Cashier is expected to maintain 100% accuracy in transaction records, properly account for all payments received, minimize cash discrepancies, and provide professional service to patients/customers at all times.

Pay: ₦140,000.00 per hour
