Responsibilities

• Operate the cash register and POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions efficiently.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos.
• Handle cash, credit card, and mobile payments with accuracy, ensuring proper cash drawer handling and balancing registers at shift end.
• Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales opportunities while maintaining a friendly demeanor.
• Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and assist with merchandising to ensure the store remains attractive and well-organized.
• Maintain phone etiquette when answering customer inquiries or directing calls professionally.
• Support inventory management through stocking duties and participating in periodic stock counts to ensure product availability.

Skills

• Proficiency in POS systems and cash register operations with strong retail math skills for accurate transactions.
• Previous cashiering experience in retail or grocery stores is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, including bilingual abilities to serve diverse customer needs effectively.
• Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities are a plus for supporting team members during busy periods.
• Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and upselling strategies.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately under pressure.
• Strong customer service orientation with professional phone etiquette and effective communication skills.
• Experience in grocery store environments or retail sales transactions enhances your fit for this role.
