Duties

• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process sales transactions swiftly and correctly
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and offering product information or demos when needed
• Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and perform cash handling duties with precision and integrity
• Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales opportunities
• Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
• Assist with inventory management through stock checks and product replenishment
• Practice professional phone etiquette when addressing customer inquiries or coordinating with team members

Experience

• Prior cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment preferred but not required
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math for accurate cash handling and transaction processing
• Supervising experience is a plus, especially in overseeing team members or training new staff
• Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer bases
• Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately for transactions and inventory counts
• Experience conducting product demos or upselling to enhance customer engagement and sales performance
• Knowledge of grocery store operations, merchandising, stocking procedures, and customer service best practices

Pay: $12.20 - $15.00 per hour
