Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist with their purchases using POS (Point of Sale) systems to process transactions efficiently.
• Handle cash, credit card, and digital payments accurately while maintaining proper cash handling procedures.
• Upsell products and promote store specials or new items to enhance the customer’s shopping experience.
• Conduct product demos when applicable, showcasing features and benefits to encourage sales.
• Maintain an organized checkout area by stocking supplies, merchandising displays, and ensuring the register is clean and ready for use.
• Provide excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely.
• Support inventory management by stocking shelves, conducting stock checks, and assisting with merchandising efforts.

Experience

• Previous retail sales experience or cashiering experience preferred, especially within grocery stores or similar environments.
• Familiarity with POS systems and retail math for quick transaction processing.
• Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer bases effectively.
• Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership skills are advantageous for supporting team efforts.
• Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling and sales calculations.
• Experience in customer service roles that require active listening, problem-solving, and maintaining professionalism under pressure.
• Knowledge of grocery store operations or retail environment practices enhances your ability to excel in this role.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 40.0 per week
