Job Summary

M's Pub is seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to assist guests with orders, payments, and front-of-house service. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a busy restaurant while providing accurate and welcoming customer service.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and provide courteous service.
• Accurately enter customer orders into the POS system.
• Process cash, credit card, and other approved payments.
• Provide receipts and verify transaction accuracy.
• Answer basic questions about menu items and restaurant services.
• Coordinate with kitchen and service staff to ensure orders are handled correctly.
• Assist with takeout and pickup orders when needed.
• Keep the cashier station clean, organized, and properly stocked.
• Reconcile or assist with register procedures according to restaurant policy.
• Help maintain an efficient customer flow during busy periods.
• Respond professionally to guest questions and service concerns.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and cash-handling procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous cashier, restaurant, hospitality, or customer-service experience preferred.
• Comfortable using a POS system and handling payments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good attention to detail and order accuracy.
• Friendly, professional, and dependable.
• Able to work efficiently during busy service periods.
• Strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to stand and remain active throughout the shift.
• Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

About The Company

M's Pub is a locally owned restaurant in Omaha's historic Old Market at 422 S. 11th Street. The restaurant opened in 1973 and is known for chef-driven food, a creative wine selection, and a historic, cozy atmosphere. M's Pub continues to serve lunch, dinner, drinks, takeout, and special dining experiences in downtown Omaha.
