Cashier

Social House Cafe & Coffee is seeking a friendly and dependable Cashier to support customers and daily café operations. This role involves taking orders, processing payments, answering general questions about menu items, and helping keep the front counter and customer areas clean and organized. The ideal candidate is courteous, attentive to detail, and comfortable working in a busy café environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional service
• Take customer orders accurately and confirm order details
• Operate the POS system and process cash and card payments
• Answer general questions about coffee, beverages, food, and menu options
• Communicate orders and customer requests clearly with café team members
• Provide receipts and assist with routine checkout requests
• Keep the register, counter, and service areas clean and organized
• Restock cups, bags, napkins, utensils, and other café supplies
• Assist baristas and coworkers during busy service periods
• Follow cash-handling, food-safety, sanitation, and cleanliness procedures
• Support opening, closing, and other routine café duties
• Work as part of the team to maintain efficient customer service

Qualifications

• Previous cashier, café, coffee shop, restaurant, retail, or customer-service experience is helpful
• Friendly and professional approach to customers
• Strong communication and listening skills
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible
• Comfortable learning POS and payment procedures
• Good attention to detail and transaction accuracy
• Able to stay organized while handling multiple customer orders
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced café environment
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
