Description

• Become part of a strong team at one of San Diego’s largest and most respected groups of dealerships, supporting Dalton Subaru National City and the Dalton Motors organization.

• We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Cashier to support our Service and Parts departments. This position plays an important role in creating a positive final impression for our customers by accurately processing payments, assisting with customer questions, answering and directing phone calls, and providing administrative support to the dealership team.

• The ideal candidate will be professional, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, accuracy, and a commitment to providing an exceptional customer experience are essential.

• This position requires a flexible schedule and may include evening hours and at least two Saturdays per month.

Some of what you will do

• Provide a professional, welcoming, and helpful experience for every customer.

• Process customer payments for Service and Parts transactions, including cash, checks, and credit cards.

• Accurately calculate customer balances, provide change, and issue receipts.

• Record payments accurately on repair orders, parts counter tickets, and dealership systems.

• Answer incoming phone calls and direct customers to the appropriate department or team member.

• Assist with scheduling and confirming service appointments as needed.

• Support appointment reminders and other customer follow-up activities.

• Process applicable customer rewards and dealership programs.

• Assist with rental vehicle transactions and related documentation.

• File and organize service repair orders, parts counter tickets, and other dealership records.

• Respond professionally to customer questions or concerns and involve the appropriate team member when additional assistance is needed.

• Maintain an organized and professional cashier and customer reception area.

• Partner with Service, Parts, and other dealership departments to ensure a smooth customer experience.

• Perform additional administrative and departmental duties as assigned.

What we are looking for

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Previous customer service, cashier, receptionist, or administrative experience preferred.

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

• Excellent verbal communication and professional phone skills.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to process transactions accurately.

• Good organizational, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.

• Professional work ethic, dependability, and high integrity.

• Strong computer skills and ability to learn dealership systems.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Professional appearance and demeanor.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and Saturdays.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous automotive dealership experience.

• Experience with Reynolds and Reynolds or similar dealership management systems.

• Bilingual English/Spanish.
