Job Overview

Responsibilities

• Operate the cash register and POS (Point of Sale) system accurately to process retail sales transactions.
• Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and perform cash drawer balancing at the end of each shift.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product demos when needed.
• Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales opportunities.
• Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure the sales floor remains clean and inviting.
• Maintain proper phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via other communication channels.
• Support merchandising efforts by arranging products attractively and ensuring accurate inventory counts.

Experience

• Prior cashiering or retail sales experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key!
• Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and basic math skills are highly desirable.
• Supervising experience or leadership skills are a plus for those interested in growth opportunities within the team.
• Bilingual abilities can enhance communication with diverse customer bases.
• Strong communication skills, including clear verbal interaction and professional phone etiquette, are essential.
• Knowledge of retail store product knowledge and merchandising techniques will help you succeed in this role.
