Responsibilities

• Operate the cash register and POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product demos when needed
• Handle cash drawer operations with precision, including cash handling, balancing registers, and managing cash drawer handling procedures
• Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales opportunities
• Maintain knowledge of store products, merchandising displays, and current promotions to assist customers effectively
• Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure the sales floor is clean and inviting
• Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely

Qualifications

• Previous cashiering or retail sales experience preferred, especially with POS systems and cash register operations
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers in a friendly manner
• Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately and balancing cash drawers
• Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs effectively
• Experience in supervising or mentoring team members is advantageous but not required
• Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising, and upselling techniques is beneficial
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as stocking merchandise
