Cashier

Civil Pour Coffee + Beer is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Cashier to support daily café and service operations. This role involves welcoming customers, taking food and beverage orders, processing payments, answering general questions about menu offerings, and maintaining a clean and organized service area. The ideal candidate is professional, attentive to detail, and comfortable working in a busy hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and provide friendly, courteous, and professional service.
• Take coffee, food, and other beverage orders accurately.
• Operate the POS system and process cash, card, and other approved payments.
• Answer general questions about menu items, café offerings, and service procedures.
• Confirm order details and communicate customer requests clearly with team members.
• Provide receipts and assist with dine-in, pickup, and takeout orders.
• Maintain an organized register, counter, and customer-service area.
• Restock cups, lids, napkins, utensils, bags, and other service supplies.
• Assist café and service team members during busy operating periods.
• Follow applicable company procedures for age-restricted beverage service and customer verification, where required.
• Follow cash-handling, food-safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Support opening, closing, and other daily operational duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous cashier, café, restaurant, hospitality, retail, or customer-service experience is helpful.
• Friendly, professional, and respectful approach to customers.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
• Comfortable learning and using POS systems.
• Good attention to detail and transaction accuracy.
• Able to remain organized while assisting multiple customers.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Willingness to learn menu information, service procedures, and company policies.
• Ability to follow applicable age-verification and responsible-service requirements.
