Cashier

Morgan Street Food Hall is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Cashier to support daily food-service operations. This role involves welcoming guests, taking food and beverage orders, processing payments, answering general menu questions, and helping maintain a clean and organized service area. The ideal candidate is attentive, professional, and comfortable working in a busy food hall environment with multiple vendors and customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and provide friendly, courteous, and professional service.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and confirm order details.
• Operate the POS system and process cash, card, and other approved payments.
• Answer general questions about menu items, pricing, and available food-service options.
• Communicate customer orders and special requests clearly with kitchen and vendor team members.
• Provide receipts and assist with dine-in, pickup, and takeout orders.
• Help organize completed orders and direct customers to the appropriate service area.
• Keep the register, counter, and customer-facing areas clean and organized.
• Restock bags, containers, napkins, utensils, and other front-counter supplies.
• Assist coworkers and food hall vendors with routine service duties during busy periods.
• Follow cash-handling, food-safety, sanitation, and workplace procedures.
• Support opening, closing, and other daily food hall responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous cashier, restaurant, café, retail, or customer-service experience is helpful.
• Friendly, professional, and respectful approach to customers.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
• Comfortable learning and using POS systems.
• Good attention to detail and transaction accuracy.
• Able to remain organized while assisting multiple customers.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced food-service environment.
• Willingness to learn menu information, vendor procedures, and service standards.
• Ability to work effectively with customers, coworkers, and food-service teams.
