About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and organised Cashier to join the financial operations team at RS Sedayu General Hospital in Bantul, Yogyakarta. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in managing patient payments, billing transactions, and ensuring smooth financial operations within our healthcare facility. As a Cashier, you will be at the forefront of our patient experience, handling all monetary transactions with accuracy, professionalism, and discretion. This position is essential to maintaining the financial integrity and operational efficiency of our hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Processing patient payments, including cash, card, and digital payment methods with accuracy and efficiency
• Managing and reconciling cash registers and payment records at the beginning and end of each shift
• Issuing invoices, receipts, and payment confirmations to patients and their families
• Handling billing inquiries and resolving payment-related issues in a professional manner
• Recording and reporting daily financial transactions in the hospital's accounting system
• Maintaining confidentiality of patient financial information in accordance with hospital policies and regulations
• Assisting patients with understanding billing statements and payment procedures
• Collaborating with administrative and medical staff to ensure accurate billing information
• Following hospital financial protocols and security procedures to prevent fraud and errors
• Processing refunds and payment adjustments as authorised

What we're looking for

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification
• Proven experience working as a cashier or in a similar financial transactions role, ideally in a healthcare or hospital setting
• Proficiency in operating cash registers, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and basic accounting software
• Strong mathematical and numerical accuracy skills
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to handle financial records meticulously
• Professional communication skills and a patient, courteous demeanor when interacting with patients and colleagues
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information responsibly
• Reliability and punctuality with a commitment to meeting daily financial closing deadlines
• Knowledge of Indonesian Rupiah currency handling and local payment methods is advantageous
• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
