Duties

• Operate the cash register (POS system) accurately during retail sales transactions, including scanning items, processing payments, and issuing receipts
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos
• Handle cash drawer operations with precision, ensuring proper cash handling and balancing at the end of each shift
• Upsell products and promote ongoing sales or promotions to enhance the customer experience and increase store revenue
• Stock shelves, organize displays, and assist with merchandising to ensure a clean, attractive shopping environment
• Maintain phone etiquette when answering customer inquiries or coordinating store activities over the phone
• Support product demos when needed to educate customers about features and benefits of various items

Requirements

• Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
• Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations is highly desirable
• Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and balancing the cash drawer
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as stocking or merchandising
• Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, grocery items, and merchandising principles is advantageous
• Supervising experience is a bonus but not mandatory; leadership qualities are appreciated for potential growth opportunities
