Responsibilities

• Operate the cash register efficiently, handling all retail sales transactions accurately and swiftly.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product information.
• Manage cash handling procedures, including balancing the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Conduct product demos to educate customers about features and benefits, encouraging additional sales through upselling techniques.
• Maintain knowledge of store products and merchandising standards to assist customers effectively.
• Support stocking and merchandising efforts by organizing shelves and ensuring product displays are attractive and well-stocked.
• Use POS (Point of Sale) systems confidently for processing transactions and managing sales data.
• Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when communicating with customers or vendors over the phone.
• Assist in training new team members in cashier duties and customer service best practices when supervising experience is available.
• Engage in retail math calculations for pricing, discounts, and change management to ensure accuracy in all transactions.

Experience

• Previous experience working as a cashier or in retail sales is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is key!
• Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and basic math skills are highly valued.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus, enabling better communication with diverse customer bases.
• Strong communication skills and friendly phone etiquette help foster positive interactions with customers and team members.
• Experience in supervising or training staff can be advantageous for those interested in leadership opportunities.
• Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising, and upselling techniques enhances customer engagement.
• Prior experience with stock management or stocking duties supports overall store operations.
