Responsibilities

• Operate the cash register (POS system) accurately during retail sales transactions, handling cash, credit cards, and digital payments with precision.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions about products, and assisting with product demos when needed.
• Manage cash drawer handling efficiently, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed at all times.
• Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales and improve customer satisfaction.
• Maintain knowledge of retail store products and merchandising to assist customers effectively and support inventory stocking when necessary.
• Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely.
• Support store operations through tasks such as stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring the sales floor remains inviting and well-organized.

Qualifications

• Prior cashiering experience in a retail environment is preferred; familiarity with POS systems is highly valued.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey information and engage customers positively.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus, enabling effective communication with a diverse customer base.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately and balancing cash drawers at shift end.
• Experience in supervising or leading team members is advantageous but not required; leadership qualities help foster a collaborative environment.
• Knowledge of retail sales techniques including upselling, merchandising, and product demos enhances performance.
• Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills are essential for creating memorable shopping experiences.

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 40.0 per week
