Duties

• Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions
• Handle cash, credit, debit, and mobile payments with precision and integrity
• Provide product demos and upsell items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales
• Stock shelves, merchandise displays, and ensure the sales floor is neat and organized
• Assist customers with questions about store products, store policies, or locating items
• Maintain a clean and welcoming checkout area while adhering to phone etiquette when communicating with customers over the phone
• Support inventory management by handling cash drawer balancing and cash handling procedures
• Conduct product knowledge sharing and merchandising to promote featured items effectively
• Supervise or assist new team members in cashiering duties when needed
• Help cooks if needed.

Skills

• Proven experience with POS systems and cashiering operations in a retail setting
• Strong communication skills with the ability to provide excellent customer service in bilingual environments if applicable
• Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities in a retail environment
• Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately for retail math calculations
• Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising, and stock replenishment techniques
• Excellent phone etiquette for professional communication with customers or vendors
• Skills in upselling, suggestive selling, and product demos to maximize sales opportunities
• Familiarity with cash register operations, cash drawer handling, and cash handling procedures
• Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining a friendly demeanor under pressure
