Responsibilities

• Operate cash registers accurately, handling cash, credit cards, and other payment methods with precision.
• Process retail sales transactions efficiently while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.
• Provide product demos and answer customer questions about store merchandise to enhance their shopping experience.
• Assist with stocking shelves, merchandising displays, and organizing products to ensure the store remains inviting and well-organized.
• Upsell additional products or services by identifying customer needs and offering relevant recommendations.
• Maintain proper cash drawer handling procedures, including balancing registers at shift end.
• Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely.
• Support supervising staff during busy periods and contribute to a positive team environment.

Skills

• Proven experience with POS (Point of Sale) systems and cash register operations.
• Strong retail sales skills combined with basic math proficiency for handling transactions accurately.
• Excellent communication skills, including bilingual abilities preferred for serving diverse customers effectively.
• Customer service expertise with a friendly attitude, active listening skills, and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of retail store product details, merchandising techniques, and inventory stocking procedures.
• Experience in grocery stores or retail environments is highly desirable.
• Ability to handle cash drawers responsibly, perform retail math calculations swiftly, and maintain accuracy during high-volume periods.
• Familiarity with upselling strategies and product demos to boost sales performance.
