Job Summary

Verve Coffee Roasters is seeking a friendly, dependable, and detail-oriented Cashier to join the café team. The ideal candidate will welcome guests, take accurate orders, operate the POS system, process payments, answer menu questions, maintain a clean service area, and support the team during busy café periods.

This position is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys coffee, hospitality, and working in a fast-paced team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and provide friendly, professional service.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.
• Operate the POS system and process cash, card, and other payments accurately.
• Provide guests with accurate receipts and transaction information.
• Answer questions about coffee, beverages, food items, and menu options.
• Assist guests with menu selections when requested.
• Communicate orders accurately to baristas and other café team members.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming cashier and service area.
• Restock cups, lids, napkins, condiments, bags, and other service supplies.
• Assist with packaging food and beverage orders as needed.
• Support baristas and other team members during busy service periods.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Handle guest requests and concerns in a polite and professional manner.
• Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, and daily café duties.
• Monitor supplies and communicate low-stock items to management.
• Perform additional responsibilities assigned by café management.

Requirements

• Previous cashier, café, restaurant, retail, or hospitality experience is preferred but not required.
• Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced café environment.
• Basic cash-handling and POS experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and order accuracy.
• Ability to follow instructions and café procedures.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to stand and move for extended periods.
• Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
