Responsibilities

• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions, returns, and exchanges
• Handle cash register operations with precision, including cash drawer handling and cash handling procedures
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries
• Conduct product demos when needed to highlight features and benefits of store merchandise
• Upsell relevant products or services to enhance the customer’s shopping experience and increase sales
• Maintain organized merchandising displays and stock shelves to ensure product availability and store presentation standards
• Assist with stocking duties and inventory management to support smooth store operations
• Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when communicating with customers or vendors over the phone
• Support supervising staff during busy periods, including supervising cash register operations and ensuring adherence to store policies
• Engage in retail math activities such as calculating totals, discounts, and change accurately

Requirements

• Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is highly preferred
• Familiarity with POS systems and cashiering procedures
• Strong basic math skills for handling transactions confidently
• Excellent communication skills coupled with friendly phone etiquette
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
• Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs effectively
• Experience in supervising or leading a team is desirable but not mandatory
• Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising, and stock management techniques
• Prior experience with upselling strategies and product demos is advantageous
