Cashier

Papa Joe's is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Restaurant Cashier to support daily restaurant operations and provide efficient service to guests. This role involves taking orders, processing payments, answering basic menu questions, organizing completed orders, and helping maintain a clean and organized front-of-house area. The ideal candidate is attentive, professional, and comfortable working in a busy restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional service
• Take dine-in, takeout, and pickup orders accurately
• Operate the POS system and process cash, card, and other approved payments
• Answer basic questions about menu items, pricing, and restaurant offerings
• Confirm order details and communicate customer requests clearly with kitchen staff
• Provide receipts and assist with routine checkout requests
• Organize completed orders for pickup, takeout, or dine-in service
• Keep the register, counter, and customer-service areas clean and organized
• Restock bags, containers, napkins, utensils, and other service supplies
• Assist coworkers with routine front-of-house duties during busy periods
• Help maintain smooth customer and order flow throughout the shift
• Follow cash-handling, food-safety, sanitation, and restaurant procedures
• Support opening and closing duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous cashier, restaurant, café, retail, or customer-service experience is helpful
• Friendly, respectful, and professional approach to customers
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible
• Comfortable learning POS and payment procedures
• Good attention to detail and transaction accuracy
• Able to remain organized during busy service periods
• Willingness to learn menu information and restaurant procedures
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
