We’re a brand-new smoke shop in Auburn, and we’ve only been open for six months.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges swiftly and efficiently
• Provide friendly and professional customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed
• Upsell products and promote store specials or promotions to enhance the shopping experience and increase sales
• Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
• Conduct product demos when applicable to educate customers about new or featured items
• Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely

Experience

• Previous cashiering experience in a retail environment or grocery store is preferred but not required; we value enthusiasm and a willingness to learn
• Strong communication skills in both verbal and written forms; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
• Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures to ensure smooth checkout processes
• Experience in supervising or leading team members is advantageous but not mandatory; we value proactive individuals eager to grow their leadership skills
• Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and product demonstrations enhances your ability to serve customers effectively
