Responsibilities

• Operate the cash register (POS system) efficiently to process retail sales transactions accurately and swiftly.
• Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and other payment methods with precision, ensuring proper cash drawer handling at all times.
• Deliver excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product demos when needed.
• Maintain knowledge of store products and merchandising to effectively upsell items and promote special offers.
• Stock shelves, organize displays, and assist with inventory management to ensure the store remains inviting and well-organized.
• Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when communicating with customers or vendors over the phone.
• Support team members by supervising or assisting during busy periods, including guiding new staff on cashier operations and customer service standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred; familiarity with retail math and cashiering is a plus.
• Proficiency with POS systems, cash register operations, and basic math skills for accurate transactions.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to provide excellent customer service in a bilingual environment are highly valued.
• Experience with merchandising, stocking, product demos, upselling, and retail sales transactions is advantageous.
• Supervising experience or leadership skills are a bonus for those interested in growth opportunities within the team.
• Knowledge of grocery store procedures or retail store product knowledge will support your success in this role.
• Ability to handle cash drawers responsibly while maintaining attention to detail during busy hours.
