Cashier

Job Summary

Truxton's American Bistro is seeking a friendly, dependable, and detail-oriented Cashier to join the restaurant team. The ideal candidate will welcome guests, process orders and payments accurately, operate the POS system, answer menu questions, maintain a clean and organized counter area, and support smooth front-of-house operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests with a friendly and professional attitude
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently
• Operate the POS system and process cash, card, and other payments accurately
• Provide guests with accurate receipts and transaction information
• Answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and available options
• Communicate orders clearly with kitchen and restaurant team members
• Ensure orders are entered accurately and prepared for timely service
• Assist with packaging takeout and pickup orders when needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming cashier and counter area
• Restock menus, packaging, condiments, utensils, beverages, and other supplies
• Monitor product displays and maintain an organized service area
• Follow cash-handling, food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
• Respond to guest requests and concerns in a polite and professional manner
• Assist team members during busy service periods
• Assist with opening, closing, and daily restaurant duties
• Perform additional responsibilities assigned by restaurant management

Requirements

• Previous cashier, restaurant, retail, hospitality, or food-service experience is preferred but not required
• Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic cash-handling and POS experience is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and order accuracy
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain organized work areas
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
