Cashier

Artisan Bistro is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Cashier to support daily restaurant operations and provide efficient service to guests. This role involves welcoming customers, taking food and beverage orders, processing payments, answering basic menu questions, organizing completed orders, and maintaining a clean and organized front-of-house area. The ideal candidate is attentive, professional, and comfortable working in a busy restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional service.
• Take dine-in, takeout, pickup, and phone orders accurately.
• Operate the POS system and process cash, card, and other approved payments.
• Answer basic questions about menu items, pricing, and restaurant offerings.
• Confirm order details and communicate customer requests clearly with kitchen staff.
• Provide receipts and assist with routine checkout requests.
• Organize completed orders for pickup, takeout, or dine-in service.
• Keep the register, counter, and customer-service areas clean and organized.
• Restock bags, containers, napkins, utensils, and other service supplies.
• Assist restaurant team members during busy service periods.
• Support opening, closing, and routine restaurant duties as assigned.
• Follow cash-handling, food-safety, sanitation, and restaurant procedures.
• Communicate customer concerns or order issues to the appropriate team member.

Qualifications

• Previous cashier, restaurant, café, retail, or customer-service experience is helpful.
• Friendly, respectful, and professional approach to customers.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
• Comfortable learning POS and payment procedures.
• Good attention to detail and transaction accuracy.
• Able to remain organized during busy service periods.
• Willingness to learn menu items and restaurant procedures.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
