Cashier – Seventeen Steakhouse

Seventeen Steakhouse is looking for an honest, friendly, and detail-oriented Cashier to provide excellent guest service and handle restaurant transactions accurately. The ideal candidate is comfortable using computers and POS systems, can work efficiently during busy periods, and takes responsibility for company funds and records.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and assist them with payment-related concerns.
• Enter orders and transactions accurately into the POS system.
• Process cash, credit card, e-wallet, and other approved payment methods.
• Issue correct receipts, change, discounts, and official invoices.
• Verify discounts, promotions, complimentary items, cancellations, and voided transactions according to company policy.
• Maintain an accurate cash drawer throughout the shift.
• Perform cash counts and prepare end-of-shift sales and collection reports.
• Reconcile cash, card, and digital payments against POS records.
• Immediately report shortages, overages, or transaction discrepancies to the supervisor.
• Coordinate with servers, kitchen employees, and management regarding orders and guest concerns.
• Answer basic questions about the menu, promotions, and restaurant services.
• Protect guests’ payment information and confidential company records.
• Keep the cashier station clean, organized, and properly supplied.
• Assist with reservations, takeout orders, and other front-of-house duties when assigned.
• Follow company procedures for cash handling, security, and loss prevention.
• Complete opening and closing procedures accurately.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Cashier, Restaurant Cashier, Service Crew member, or similar position is preferred.
• Comfortable using computers, POS systems, card terminals, and e-wallet payment platforms.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets is an advantage.
• Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
• Able to count money and prepare accurate transaction reports.
• Good communication and customer-service skills.
• Able to remain calm, polite, and professional during busy periods.
• Willing to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
