Responsibilities

• Operate the cash register (POS system) accurately during retail sales transactions, ensuring correct cash handling and balancing the cash drawer at shift end
• Provide friendly and professional customer service, addressing inquiries with clear communication and maintaining excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers remotely or via phone
• Assist customers with product knowledge, including conducting product demos and upselling relevant items to enhance their shopping experience
• Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and support merchandising efforts to keep the store visually appealing and well-stocked
• Manage retail math calculations for pricing, discounts, and change to ensure accuracy in all transactions
• Handle cash register operations efficiently while adhering to cash handling policies and procedures
• Support inventory management by stocking products and participating in periodic stock counts

Experience

• Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred, especially within grocery stores or similar environments with high customer interaction
• Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership skills and the ability to oversee daily store operations when needed
• Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail math is essential for success in this role
• Bilingual skills are highly valued to better serve diverse customer bases
• Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and customer service excellence, are crucial for building positive relationships with shoppers
• Experience in merchandising, product demos, upselling techniques, and stock management will help you excel in this position
• Knowledge of grocery store operations or retail store product knowledge is advantageous for providing comprehensive assistance to customers
