About the Role

Nepal Tea Collective is looking for a friendly, reliable, and customer-oriented Seasonal Cashier to join our team at the Herald Square Holiday Market in New York City this holiday season.

You will help customers explore and purchase our selection of retail teas from Nepal, operate the checkout, and offer samples of select teas to introduce visitors to our products. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys interacting with people, working in a lively holiday market environment, and sharing unique products with customers.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide a welcoming shopping experience.
• Process customer purchases accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Handle cash, credit card, and other electronic payments.
• Introduce customers to Nepal Tea Collective's retail tea products and help them choose teas based on their preferences.
• Prepare and offer samples of select teas to customers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked booth.
• Restock products, arrange displays, and monitor inventory throughout each shift.
• Answer basic customer questions about our teas and brand.
• Assist with opening, closing, and general booth operations as needed.

Qualifications

• Friendly, approachable, and comfortable engaging with customers.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Comfortable handling payments and using a POS system.
• Retail, cashier, hospitality, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
• Interest in tea, specialty food and beverage products, or local markets is a plus.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift or move product boxes as needed.
• Must be available to work during the seasonal employment period, including weekends and busy holiday days.

Work Schedule

The booth operates during the following hours:

• Monday–Saturday: 11 AM–8 PM
• Sunday: 11 AM–7 PM

Staff shifts will be scheduled within these operating hours. Availability during weekends and the busy holiday shopping season is important.
