Responsibilities

• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process sales transactions, returns, and exchanges
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries
• Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and other payment methods with precision and integrity
• Upsell products and promote store promotions or loyalty programs to enhance sales opportunities
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, restocking supplies as needed
• Conduct product demos when required to showcase features or new merchandise
• Support merchandising efforts by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented

Requirements

• Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively
• Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and balancing registers accurately
• Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
• Excellent phone etiquette for assisting customers over the phone or through digital channels
• Supervising experience is advantageous for leadership opportunities within the team
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work flexible hours as needed
