Duties

• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions, including cash register operations and cash handling.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries.
• Conduct product demos when appropriate to highlight features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities.
• Manage cash drawer handling with precision, ensuring proper cash reconciliation at shift end.
• Maintain knowledge of store products and merchandising standards to assist customers effectively.
• Stock shelves and organize merchandise to ensure the sales floor remains inviting and well-organized.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills, including phone etiquette when handling inquiries or assisting remote customers.
• Support inventory management through stocking, inventory checks, and participating in stock replenishment activities.
• Assist with retail store product knowledge sharing, including explaining features or conducting product demos to enhance customer engagement.
• Uphold safety standards by following procedures for cash register operations and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.

Experience

• Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery stores or similar environments involving retail math and merchandising.
• Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in team settings or training new staff members.
• Familiarity with POS systems and cashiering procedures is essential for smooth transaction processing.
• Experience in upselling or promoting products to increase sales is highly valued.
• Strong basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and balancing cash drawers at shift end.
• Excellent communication skills, including bilingual abilities, are advantageous for serving diverse customer bases.
• Prior experience with grocery store operations or retail store product knowledge will help you excel in this role.

Pay: $16.00 - $28.60 per hour
