Cashier

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service while efficiently handling transactions. The Cashier will be responsible for managing the point of sale (POS) system, assisting customers with their purchases, and contributing to a positive shopping experience.

Duties

• Operate the cash register and process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and addressing any concerns.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring accurate cash handling practices.
• Assist in stocking shelves and maintaining the organization of the sales floor.
• Engage in upselling and suggestive selling techniques to enhance customer purchases.
• Maintain a clean and orderly checkout area to ensure a pleasant shopping environment.
• Collaborate with team members to meet sales goals and improve overall store performance.
• Perform basic math calculations for cash handling and register operations.

Requirements

• Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
• Ability to operate a POS system effectively and handle cash transactions accurately.
• Basic math skills to perform retail math calculations confidently.
• Experience in supervising stock management is a plus.
• A proactive attitude towards upselling products and enhancing customer satisfaction.
• Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Currently searching for a cashier at Best Stop #7 to work 6-8 hours a day, 5-7 days a week. Must be trustworthy, reliable, and friendly towards customers. Hours can be adjusted and there’s plenty of opportunity for pay raises. Experience as a cashier or in a gas station setting is a plus.
