Duties

• Operate the cash register (POS system) accurately to process retail sales transactions, including cash handling, credit card payments, and mobile payments.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos.
• Upsell products and suggest add-on items to enhance the customer’s shopping experience and increase sales.
• Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure the sales floor is clean, inviting, and well-maintained.
• Handle cash drawer operations with precision, perform basic math calculations for transactions, and reconcile cash at the end of each shift.
• Maintain knowledge of store products and promotions to effectively assist customers and promote sales initiatives.
• Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when answering inquiries or providing information to customers over the phone.

Qualifications

• Prior retail sales or cashiering experience preferred; grocery store experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations is essential.
• Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer needs.
• Experience supervising or mentoring team members is advantageous.
• Ability to perform retail math accurately for cash handling and transactions.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor.
• Knowledge of retail store product merchandising, stocking procedures, and basic inventory management.

Pay: $11.00 - $15.00 per hour
