Job Summary

RusTeak Thornton Park is seeking a friendly, dependable, and detail-oriented Cashier to support daily restaurant operations. The ideal candidate will process guest payments accurately, assist with takeout orders, answer customer questions, and provide courteous service. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain organized in a busy dining environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and provide friendly, professional customer service.
• Process cash, credit card, and other electronic payments accurately.
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to enter orders and complete transactions.
• Verify orders and payment totals before finalizing purchases.
• Assist guests with takeout orders, receipts, and basic menu questions.
• Maintain an accurate cash drawer and follow cash-handling procedures.
• Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure correct order processing.
• Keep the cashier station and surrounding service areas clean and organized.
• Address routine customer concerns and refer complex issues to management.
• Follow restaurant policies, food safety guidelines, and transaction security procedures.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Basic math skills and accuracy when handling payments.
• Ability to learn POS systems and order-processing procedures.
• Reliable, organized, and attentive to detail.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Previous cashier or restaurant experience is preferred but not required.
• Availability to work scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 per week
