Duties

• Operate the cash register (POS system) accurately to handle retail sales transactions, including cash, credit/debit cards, and mobile payments
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos
• Manage cash drawer handling with precision, ensuring proper cash handling procedures and balancing registers at shift end
• Upsell products and promote store promotions to maximize sales opportunities
• Stock shelves, organize displays, and assist with merchandising to maintain an attractive shopping environment
• Support product demos to educate customers about features and benefits of items
• Maintain phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
• Assist with inventory management tasks such as stocking and inventory counts, especially in grocery or retail settings

Skills

• Proven experience with POS systems and cash register operations in a retail environment
• Supervising experience or leadership skills to help guide team members when needed
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in bilingual settings if applicable
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional phone etiquette
• Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately for retail math calculations and cash handling
• Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising standards, and grocery store operations preferred
• Demonstrated ability to upsell products confidently while maintaining a positive customer experience
• Experience in retail sales transactions, cashiering, and stock management is highly desirable
• Familiarity with retail math concepts for accurate register balancing and cash drawer handling

Pay: From $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
