Cashier

The Q is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Cashier to support daily restaurant operations and provide efficient service to guests. This role involves welcoming customers, taking food and beverage orders, processing payments, answering basic menu questions, and keeping the front counter clean and organized. The ideal candidate is attentive, professional, and comfortable working in a busy restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional service.
• Take dine-in, takeout, and pickup orders accurately.
• Operate the POS system and process cash, card, and other approved payments.
• Answer basic questions about menu items, pricing, and available options.
• Confirm order details and communicate customer requests clearly with kitchen staff.
• Provide receipts and assist with routine checkout requests.
• Organize completed orders for pickup and dine-in service.
• Keep the register, counter, and front-of-house areas clean and organized.
• Restock bags, containers, napkins, utensils, and other restaurant supplies.
• Assist coworkers with routine service duties during busy periods.
• Follow cash-handling, food-safety, sanitation, and restaurant procedures.
• Support opening, closing, and other daily restaurant responsibilities.
• Communicate customer concerns or order issues to the appropriate team member.

Qualifications

• Previous cashier, restaurant, café, retail, or customer-service experience is helpful but not required.
• Friendly, respectful, and professional approach to customers.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
• Comfortable learning and using POS systems.
• Good attention to detail and transaction accuracy.
• Able to stay organized while assisting multiple customers.
• Willingness to learn menu items and restaurant procedures.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
