Cashier

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while accurately processing transactions. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment. As a Cashier, you will play a key role in ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining the overall efficiency of our grocery store operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
• Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers, answering inquiries, and resolving any issues that arise during the checkout process.
• Assist with merchandising and stocking shelves to ensure products are readily available for customers.
• Conduct product demonstrations to promote sales and enhance customer experience.
• Upsell products when appropriate to maximize sales opportunities.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and surrounding spaces.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations and provide support as needed.

Skills

• Proficient in using POS systems and handling cash transactions.
• Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred, with supervisory experience being a plus.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and retail math calculations.
• Ability to perform merchandising tasks including stocking shelves and organizing displays.
• Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to assist a diverse customer base.
