Cashier (Outsource)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Payment Collection:

  • Collect tuition fees, miscellaneous charges, laboratory fees, and other school-related payments.
  • Issue official receipts and log every transaction accurately.

• Student Account Management:

  • Update student ledgers and track individual balances.
  • Answer student and parent inquiries regarding billing, payment plans, and account clearances.
  • Assist during enrollment periods for payment verification.

• Financial Reporting & Reconciliation:

  • Prepare daily cash reports and balance cash drawers or registers at the end of shifts.
  • Reconcile collected funds with the school accountant or finance office.
  • Prepare and deposit daily or regular collections into the school’s authorized bank account.

• Safekeeping & Security:

  • Store cash, checks, receipts, and confidential records in secure vaults or locked drawers.
  • Protect the privacy of student financial and personal records.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance is often preferred.

• Experience: Prior cashiering, customer service, or basic accounting experience is a plus.

• Skills:

  • Basic mathematics and high attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, spreadsheets, or school accounting software.
  • Good communication and customer service skills for dealing with parents and students.
  • High level of honesty, integrity, and discretion.
