Duties

• Operate the cash register (POS system) accurately during retail sales transactions, including cash handling and balancing the cash drawer at shift end
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product selections
• Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities to maximize sales
• Stock shelves and organize merchandise to maintain an appealing store layout and ensure product availability
• Assist in merchandising efforts by setting up displays and ensuring products are properly labeled and faced
• Maintain phone etiquette when answering inquiries or providing information to customers over the phone
• Support supervising staff during busy periods, helping oversee daily store operations and ensuring smooth customer flow

Experience

• Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery stores or similar environments with retail math and cash register operations
• Familiarity with POS systems and cashiering procedures is highly desirable
• Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in guiding team members and managing customer interactions effectively
• Bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse customer bases
• Strong communication skills essential for engaging customers, explaining products, and upselling effectively
• Knowledge of retail store product details, merchandising techniques, and stock management practices
• Experience with grocery store operations or retail sales transactions will help you excel in this fast-paced role

Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
