Duties

• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges with speed and precision
• Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and assist with product inquiries or demonstrations to enhance their shopping experience
• Handle cash, credit card transactions, and other payment methods confidently while maintaining accurate cash handling procedures
• Upsell products and promote store specials to maximize sales opportunities and meet retail targets
• Maintain organized merchandising displays, stock shelves, and ensure the sales floor is clean and inviting
• Provide excellent customer service by listening actively, addressing concerns promptly, and ensuring customer satisfaction
• Use strong communication skills to engage with bilingual customers and ensure clear understanding in diverse environments

Experience

• Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store setting is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for handling transactions accurately
• Supervising experience is a plus, especially if it involved overseeing team members or managing daily operations
• Ability to perform retail math calculations related to sales totals, discounts, and inventory counts confidently
• Strong phone etiquette skills for assisting customers over the phone or through digital communication channels
• Experience in merchandising, stocking shelves, or product demos is beneficial for supporting store presentation efforts
• Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve a diverse customer base effectively
