Responsibilities

• Operate the cash register (POS system) accurately during retail sales transactions, including processing payments via cash, credit/debit cards, and mobile payments
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos
• Handle cash drawer operations with precision, ensuring proper cash handling and balancing at the end of each shift
• Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance customer experience and increase sales opportunities
• Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and assist with merchandising efforts to maintain an attractive store environment
• Maintain professional phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via online inquiries
• Support product demos and educate customers on store products to boost engagement and sales performance

Requirements

• Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering preferred; grocery store experience is a plus
• Strong communication skills with the ability to connect effectively with diverse customers; bilingual abilities are highly valued
• Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and basic retail math for accurate transactions
• Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership skills are advantageous for supporting team efforts
• Ability to handle cash drawer handling responsibly and perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately
• Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising, and inventory stocking procedures
• Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to ensure positive interactions at all times
• Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
