Cashier/Customer Service Representative

Duties

• Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions, including cash handling and credit card payments
• Provide friendly, professional customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries
• Conduct product demos when applicable to highlight features and benefits of store merchandise
• Upsell related products or services to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
• Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure the sales floor is tidy and well-merchandised according to store standards
• Maintain accurate cash drawer handling procedures, including balancing registers at shift end
• Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette by answering inquiries promptly and professionally

Experience

• Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
• Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail math is a plus
• Supervising experience in a retail setting is advantageous for candidates interested in growth opportunities
• Bilingual skills are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively
• Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey information and listen actively
• Experience in merchandising, stocking, or product demonstrations enhances your ability to succeed in this role

Pay: $16.00 - $27.98 per hour
