Cashier/Customer Service Representative

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs, including product demos when applicable
• Operate the cash register accurately, handling retail sales transactions, cash handling, and cash drawer management with precision
• Upsell products and promote store specials to maximize sales opportunities
• Maintain stock levels by assisting with stocking shelves and merchandising displays to ensure an inviting shopping environment
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries via phone etiquette and in person, ensuring a positive shopping experience
• Conduct product knowledge sharing and product demos to educate customers about features and benefits
• Support store operations through basic retail math calculations for transactions and inventory management

Experience

• Previous cashiering experience in retail or grocery store environments preferred
• Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities, to serve diverse customer needs effectively
• Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems and cash register operations required
• Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in team settings
• Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising, and grocery store procedures highly desirable
• Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and inventory counts
• Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to handle inquiries professionally
