Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs, including product information and recommendations.
• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges while handling cash, credit cards, and other payment methods responsibly.
• Conduct product demos when appropriate to showcase features and benefits to customers.
• Upsell additional items or services to enhance customer satisfaction and increase store sales.
• Maintain clean and organized checkout areas, ensuring merchandise is properly stocked and merchandised for easy access.
• Manage stock levels by assisting with stocking shelves and inventory counts to ensure product availability.
• Provide excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely.
• Support merchandising efforts by arranging displays attractively and following store guidelines.
• Assist in training new team members or supervising staff during shifts to ensure smooth operations.
• Engage in basic retail math for cash handling accuracy and daily reconciliation procedures.

Skills

• Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures to ensure accurate transactions.
• Previous retail sales experience, especially in grocery stores or similar environments, is highly valued.
• Strong communication skills for engaging with diverse customers effectively.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus for serving a broader customer base.
• Experience with product demos, upselling techniques, and merchandising strategies.
• Knowledge of grocery store operations including stocking, inventory management, and retail math.
• Excellent phone etiquette for professional remote communication.
• Supervising experience is beneficial for leadership opportunities within the team.
• Familiarity with retail safety standards and customer service best practices.
